Water System FAQ's

If there are issues with your water pressure or your bill seems to high, your FIRST step is to check your cistern/water pump to see if it is leaking/functioning. If it is, then call your Plumber.

You can pay your water bill by sending a check to Metro (33719 Mountain View Trinidad CO 81082) or direct deposit or ACH- you will need to log onto the website to get the routing number if not on the bill. (There may be as a service charge for some payment types i.e. credit card)

All 3 water tanks (each hold 110,000 gallons of water), are checked regularly and quality is routinely tested and reported to the state. Water levels are constantly tracked on a automated system. (There are state certification requirements for individuals to work on and maintain water tanks).

Yes. There are companies in Trinidad that will deliver to your cistern or you can haul it yourself.

Ditch Rats are highly skilled ranch volunteers and hold requisite water testing certification through the state of Colorado; they manage the water system on Santa Fe Trail Ranch. These individuals provide maintenance functions such as repairing water pipes/lines, cleaning the holding tanks, and other necessary tasks needed to maintain the primary water systems on the ranch.

They DO NOT work on individual property water systems. That is the land/home owner's responsibility.

In order to be on the Metro Board the following requirements must be met:

a person must be a resident or Ranch Owner and a voter in the state of Colorado. A person can be nominated for a position on the board if these requirements (see SFTRMetro.com for any additional requirements), then elections are held to fill any positions that are vacant or terms are expiring.
