Roads Maintenance and Snow Removal FAQ's

Routine road maintenance is provided year around on an as needed basis and includes grading and/or applying road base.

If a section of any road is in need of repair vs. routine maintenance, notification should be made to the Road Committee at: roadcommittee@santafetrailranch.com

Abnormal water accumulation, which is not associated with snow melt or rainfall, may indicate a leak in our water system. Notifications of such should be directed to the SFTR Metropolitan District (Metro) at: http://www.sftrmetro.com/ or call 719-846-3569

There are no specific guidelines, there are however certain rules of thumb. Extreme caution should be used after a rain shower or snowfall as the soil on the ranch is comprised mostly of clay and becomes extremely slippery and soft. Rapid melting and refreezing of the ground in winter calls for caution as well. If your trip is not necessary, please choose safety over convenience.

Snow removal is also provided by the same contractor that maintains the SFTR roadways and the work begins when snow fall s reaches 5-6” of accumulation or drifting impacts travel on the roads. The contractor usually begins at the end of the Ranch that has the greatest accumulation.
